Our Guarantee:

All quilts and pillows from Ringsted Dun are manufactured without the use of harmful substances and chemicals. For this reason, Ringsted Dun was one of the first quilt manufacturers in the world to be certified to the internationally-recognized Oeko-Tex Standard 1000.

At Ringsted Dun, all feathers and down are washed, heat-treated and de-dusted. As a result, our products are always a safe choice, because all allergenic bio-organisms have been rendered harmless.

RINGSTED only uses new down and feathers of the highest quality (Class I). The other two classes are for inferior qualities. IF there is no information on "class", therefore, the product in question might be Class III. Class III permits the use of more than 15% recycled down/feathers from old products that other people have slept in.
 
Ringsted Dun only manufactures down quilts and pillows made from the finest cotton shells and fillings of the highest quality down and feathers.

Our Certifications

                                                         

The Oeko-Tex 100 standard limits the content of harmful substances in accordance with state-of-the-art science. This includes types of yarn, piece goods and all types of textiles. Only manufacturers who meet the strict requirements to testing and inspection, and who can document quality control of the production, can achieve permission to label their products according to the Oeko-Tex 100 standard.
 
The products are tested regularly for chemicals and dyes that may be harmful to health and well-being. An Oeko-Tex 100 label guarantees that the product is not harmful to the user. The Oeko-Tex 100 standard is divided into four Product Classes, but only I and II are relevant to quilts and pillows: Products for babies (Product Class I): According to this standard, products for babies are all articles, basic materials and accessories which are provided for the production of articles for babies and children up to the age of two years, with the exception of leather clothing.
 
Products with direct contact to skin (Product Class II): Articles with direct contact to skin are defined as those articles which are worn with a large part of their surface in direct contact with the skin. These include blouses, shirts and underwear. Products without direct contact to skin (Product Class III): Articles without direct contact to skin are defined as those articles which are worn with only a little part of their surface in direct contact with the skin. These may be stuffing, linings etc. Decoration material (Product Class IV): In the context of this standard, decoration material is all articles, including initial products and accessories which are used for decoration. These include table cloths, wall coverings, upholstery fabrics, curtains, carpets and mattresses. 
                                                                           

The Oeko-Tex® Standard 1000

The Oeko-Tex® Standard 1000 is issued by well-known, independent textile test institutes who have joined together under the name “Oeko-Tex® International – Association for the Assessment of Environmentally Friendly Textiles”. The Association is based in Zurich.

The Oeko-Tex® Standard 1000 is a testing, audit and certification system for environmentally friendly production sites. The standard claims to provide an objective assessment of the effectiveness of a company’s actions in minimising the environmental impact of their production site. In order to receive certification under the Oeko-Tex® Standard 1000, companies must meet the stipulated criteria regarding environmentally friendly manufacturing processes an provide evidence that at last 30 % of total production is already certified under the Oeko-Tex® Standard 100.
 
 
EN 12934 Class I

Did you know that down and feathers can be labeled in three classes under the EN 12934 standard? RINGSTED only uses new down and feathers of the highest quality (Class I). The other two classes are for inferior qualities. IF there is no information on "class", therefore, the product in question might be Class III. Class III permits the use of more than 15% recycled down/feathers from old products that other people have slept in.

All of RINGSTED natural fillings qualities meet the requirements of EN 12934 - Class I.

Within the feather and down industry, we are committed to ensuring high-quality products and creating the necessary confidence in our products among our customers and, of course, our end users.
 
The NOMITE brand confirms that bedding articles displaying the mark fit for house dust mite allergy sufferers. Because down and feather filled products offer excellent thermal and climatic conditions (a rapid warming up while one is sleeping, rapid decrease in the bed's humidity if the room is aired regularly. This provides a poor habitat for the house dust mite that relies on high humidity to live. Your additional protection is the tight weave of the down-proof fabric, which works as a barrier preventing the house dust mites from penetrating the fabric. So people suffering from dust allergy may fully enjoy the warmth and comfort of down and feather filled duvets and pillows displaying the NOMITE mark.

The Downafresh® label is the English version of Daunasan®.

The Downafresh® label is a special labelling system developed for European manufacturers of natural fills and natural fill products. It also guarantees a clean product of very high quality. Handling of fills and manufacturing are according to the rigid guidelines of the European standard EN 12934, which includes the following concrete points:

Filling materials must come from a Downafresh® manufacturer (own or other European manufacturer). Raw feathers have been cleaned with water and dried at a temperature above 100oC.

Cleaned feathers and down comply with the requirements to cleanliness and hygiene, as specified in the European standard EN 12934.

Manufacturers who use the Downafresh® label shall request an independent test at least twice a year to confirm compliance with the requirements specified in the Downafresh® procedure. Test laboratories are designated by the European Down and Feather Association, the EDFA.

The registration number allocated by the EDFA must be stated when the Downafresh® label is used.

The Downafresh® label may only be used by members of the EDFA who manufacture feathers and down, or manufacture and market down and feather products.

                                                                        

Dannebrog is the name for the Danish national flag. It guaranties that the products are made in Denmark.

The products are then of high quality carefully checked by Ringsted Dun.
